Our Tour

Tours will begin at the Rotorua i-Site. Relish in the stories of days past as you sauter through th picturesque Government Gardens. Soak in the geothermal activity and Lake Rotorua from Pukeroa Hill. Visit Ohinemutu Village – the birthplace of Rotorua, including St Faiths Church and past the Tamatekapua meeting house.

Our Guides

The unique aspect of these tours will be your guide’s connection to the places and the people you will see. Rotorua is not just any city, this is our home and these are our stories. All our guides will be trained so they are able to recount all the facts but it will be the personal tales that will make our tours unforgettable.

Our Stories

Prior to 1876 Rotorua was nothing but scrub and ngawha (boiling pools). The partnership between Te Arawa and the early European settlers, that lead to Rotorua’s development still exists today. The locations we visit are soaked in history and stories; the bravery of Tunohopu, tales of Tudor Towers, the heroics of the 28th Maori Battalion, the sacred tohunga Makawe, the coming of Christianity and the tales of some of Te Arawa’ most colourful ancestors.
