A-Kahu … boutique and luxurious lake edge accommodation

A-Kahu House at Kawaha Point on the edge of Lake Rotorua is as much an encounter with Te Arawa Maori culture as it is a private, boutique environment from which to explore Rotorua.

Four large en-suited rooms comprise A-Kahu -  three Super King and one twin Queen configuration. All rooms have LCD television. Interconnected family suites are available.

Each guest room is beautifully appointed. Luxurious linens, furnishings and hand made Maori herb and oil infused soaps feature as do stunning views of historic Lake Rotorua, Ohinemutu Village, Rotorua township and Mt Tarawera.

Kiri Atkinson-Crean, husband Nigel Crean and their young sons, Gabriel and Lachlan are your hosts. A Te Arawa family, their tribal links bind them to the landscape, the history, people and stories of Rotorua.

A-Kahu features stunning Maori art work, craft and Maori collections- contemporary and traditional paintings, weaving, sculpture and carvings. A small library of well loved Maori and New Zealand literature is available.

A home made breakfast is included in the tariff and a family hosted dinner is available by arrangement. Guests are welcome to complimentary beverage, home baking and great New Zealand chocolate during their stay.

Swimming, spa and kayaking are free of charge from the private jetty, wakeboarding, jet skiing and fishing are available by arrangement.
